While everyone has beaten up on CBS for accentuating the "BS" portion with their fraudulent reporting over the years, NBC has managed to slide on their own shameful record of misconduct - anyone remember how they rigged trucks to explode for a report?
Hot Air has a Vent episode that shows that a May NBC News report about body armor for our troops was yet another sadly typical example of the Treason Media in action:
On May 17, NBC reported a blockbuster exclusive report on the superiority of Dragon Skin body armor over Interceptor, the body armor that the US Army issues to soldiers in combat zones. But NBC’s story has a major flaw: It’s wrong about nearly everything.As if that wasn't enough, Instapundit wonders:
WHY DON'T AL QAEDA ATROCITIES GET MEDIA ATTENTION?The funny thing about the Left is that they're constantly shrieking about how the "truth" is being covered-up an imaginary news media that they see as controlled by Team Dubya, REAL news is actually being ignored in favor of terrorist propaganda from factions allied with those actually committing atrocities.Because that might help Bush.

It is humiliating because it is obvious that we media – and our allies in the state department, the legal trade, the NGOs, the Democratic Party, the UN, etc., - can’t do squat about such determined use of force.
Our words, images, arguments and skills can’t stop the killing. Only the rough soldiers and their guns can solve the problem, and we won’t admit that fact because the admission would weaken our influence and our claim to social status.
So we pretend Yon’s massacre – and the North Korean killing fields, the Arab treatment of women, the Arab hatred of Israel, etc. - doesn’t exist, and instead focus our emotions and attention on the somewhat-bad domestic things that we can ‘fix’ with our DC-based allies. Things such as Abu Ghraib, wiretapping, etc. When we ‘fix’ them, then we get status, applause, power, new jobs, ego, etc.
Please don’t be surprised. We media are an interest group not much different from the automakers, the unions, and the farmers.
Sadly, this makes sense. And this fits the pattern.
So much for that reality-based existence they claim to live.

Now all of a sudden it has become: WHY DON'T THEY REPORT THE BAD NEWS?!

In your need to be contradictory above all else, you've made yourself look all the more foolish to those you actually read the linked materials and understand the point that the Treason Media refuses to report on the genuine atrocities of the enemy because to do so may lead people to understand that we're in a fight for our survival and since opposition to tyranny isn't in the media's interest - how can you be stenographers to the fascist power elite when the rabble are rebelling? - they make damn sure that the public is fed an unbalanced diet of bad news in order to break their will to fight back and survive.
That's why every newscast contains the same litany of jihadi victory and American failure: "[X] U.S. soldiers were blown up today bringing the death toll to [XXXX] for this unpopular war that only [XX]% of people polled still support. Dubya's approval rating is [XX]% with his handling of the war being to blame." It's simple brainwashing through repetition; the public is told that out troops are dying, a lot have died and that the majority disapproves of Dubya and the war. Since many people are concerned with being in the majority column - if it's popular, it must be good, right? - they are less likely to take the difficult position that fighting is worth it. If today's Treason Media was reporting WWII, they would've splashed the headline "OVER 1000 LOST IN PREP FOR SECRET EUROPE INVASION!!!" because that's what happened before D-Day. "Why are we dying for Europe? Hitler is no threat to us."
I was watching "Nightline" and they were trying to spin the fact that doctors were behind the London and Glasgow car bomb attacks as being a reaction to US and UK involvement in Iraq. Nevermind that the participation of educated affluent people flies in the face of the meme that it's poverty and oppression that fuels jihadi rage, "it's all our fault" is the story they want to tell and that's what they'll give us.
Too bad the reality is that the shortage of doctors in the US and UK - where unlike Michael Moore's fever-dreaming would have you believe, spending 12 years training to be a doctor to only make $200K isn't that appealing - has led to the importation of physicians from places that have it in for us. Since we've been told it's only poor, desperate people waging jihad, no one suspects these hand-picked minions of Al Queda - did you know that Ayman Al-Zawahiri, #2 thug in Al Queda is a doctor? - as they move amongst us. Some worry that these radicals are killing Jewish patients and pointing out the connections between them and the schools they trained at with heavy terror roots.
Subscribing to Dubya and London Mayor "Red Ken"'s inane "Islam is peace" codswallop and the Treason Media's unbalanced, biased and seditious coverage is a recipe for ignorance at best and death at worst. I know people like you aren't interested in the Truth, but my purpose isn't to convince the diehard partisans like you to change your mind but to bring desperately needed facts to those who actually want to know what's happening in the world, but are being fed a steady diet of nothing and lies by the Treason Media.
